How we are paid

You should know how we are paid before you trust our advice.

Most brokers will tell you their advice is impartial. Fewer will show you the arrangement that makes it so. Here is ours.

The arrangement

You pay CredMe
For the consultation, the CredReport and the advisor
AED 0
The lender pays us on completion
A standard broker fee, paid only if your mortgage completes
0.5% to 1%
How much that varies between lenders
The number that actually matters, because it is what could bias a recommendation
Negligible
Lenders paying for placement or ranking
There is no priority list, and none is for sale

Does CredMe charge you a mortgage broker fee?

No. You pay nothing for the consultation, the CredReport or the advisor. CredMe is paid a broker fee by the lender, only when your mortgage completes, and the arrangement above is the whole of it.

What your advisor does is the same whichever lender you choose, and who is behind CredMe covers the founder and how the business is run.

Why this matters more than the rate

If a broker earned materially more from one bank than another, you would have no way of knowing whether a recommendation reflected your file or their fee. Because our fee sits in the same narrow range across the panel, we have no reason to prefer one lender over another, and every reason to put you with the one most likely to approve you on good terms.

This is also why we rank lenders by fit rather than by rate. The cheapest rate on the market is often the wrong choice: if your employer is not on that bank’s panel, or they count only basic salary, a lower rate can leave you with a smaller mortgage and a longer wait. We show you what you are trading, and then we tell you what we actually think.

What we will not do

  • Send your details to a lender before you have told us to
  • Run a credit check to show you where you stand
  • Put you on a marketing list, or share your number with anyone
  • Recommend a lender we would not use ourselves

Ask us at any point and we will delete everything we hold on you.
